Instructor Kelvin Delgado Biography

With more than 20 years of experience in baseball player development, scouting, and coaching, Kelvin Delgado has dedicated his career to helping young athletes maximize their potential both on and off the field.

Kelvin is the Founder and Owner of Cinco Estrellas Baseball Academy, a premier player development organization dedicated to helping young athletes reach their full potential. Together with his brothers, Kelvin founded the academy with a shared passion for teaching the game and developing players both on and off the field. Since its inception, Cinco Estrellas has earned a reputation for its commitment to excellence, character, and long-term player success.

Kelvin began his professional journey as an instructor at the Major League Baseball Academy in Compton, California, where he built a strong foundation in player development and instruction. His ability to connect with athletes and help them achieve their goals has become one of the defining characteristics of his career. Many of his former players have gone on to successful baseball careers and have become outstanding professionals within their communities.

To further expand his expertise, Kelvin graduated from the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau School, complementing his extensive background in player development and talent evaluation. During his time with MLB Academy, the program produced more than 30 players who were selected within the first three rounds of the MLB Draft.

Following his tenure with Major League Baseball, Kelvin served as Director of Player Development and Scouting for international operations at Cinco Estrellas Baseball Academy. During this time, he played a key role in the development and signing of more than 15 professional players, including several who advanced to Major League Baseball. His leadership and vision helped establish the academy as one of the premier baseball development programs in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

As Founder and Owner of Cinco Estrellas Baseball Academy, Kelvin has built one of the nation's top youth baseball development programs. Based in Encino, California, the academy has helped countless players advance to some of the most prestigious high school and collegiate baseball programs in the country.

Throughout his career, Kelvin has developed players who have gone on to attend elite institutions such as Harvard Westlake, Loyola, Sierra Canyon, Notre Dame, Chaminade, and Crespi, as well as top collegiate programs including Stanford, USC, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, LMU, Columbia and Harvard.

In addition to leading Cinco Estrellas Baseball Academy, Kelvin currently serves as the Director of Baseball Operations at DNA Prep Academy, where he continues to mentor and develop elite student-athletes.

Looking ahead, one of Kelvin's primary areas of focus is the continued expansion of his baseball camps and player development programs in the Dominican Republic, where he is committed to providing opportunities and high-level instruction to the next generation of players.

Kelvin previously coached at Sierra Canyon School (2017–2019) and Loyola High School (2014–2016). At Loyola, he served as the hitting coach, advance scout, and outfield coach, contributing significantly to one of the program's most successful seasons. His advanced scouting reports helped the team achieve a league-best 2.00 ERA and a .211 opponent batting average.

A graduate of Cleveland High School and California State University, Dominguez Hills, Kelvin Delgado continues to be recognized as one of Southern California's most respected baseball instructors, scouts, and player development specialists. His passion for teaching, commitment to excellence, and proven track record have impacted hundreds of athletes and families throughout the baseball community.
